Had time been on Hank Williams' side, he would have turned 89 years old on Sept. 17. The father of country music died at age 29 on Jan. 1, 1953.

His music is carried on by his children, however, including the always feisty Hank Williams Jr. and Jett Williams. Just last year, they released 'Hank Williams: the Legend Begins,' a collection of unreleased songs and performances from the 'Hey Good Lookin'' singer. The family name is still strong nearly 60 years after his passing.
