Hunter Hayes will definitely have his work cut out for him this summer, as he has been given the prestigious opening act slot on Carrie Underwood's Blown Away Tour. While the audience capacity will be nothing too new for Hayes -- as he's played before stars like Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts in recent years -- the length of the 'Good Girl' singer's tour is something he'll have to get used to.

"I am so excited to go on the road with Carrie," Hayes tells Taste of Country, beaming. "With Carrie, we’re doing 55 dates or something crazy like that. Basically, I get to start out the tour with her, and then I get to finish the North American leg. To be on a tour for that long and to get the slot that we get, it’s definitely like an ah-ha moment."

While the 20-year-old multi-talented country star is excited to be hitting the road again, he's also humbled to even be considered for such a big tour with one of country's most iconic stars.

Speaking of Underwood, Hayes adds, "For her to consider me for the slot was very cool. I’m excited to just play, especially on that tour. I know she’s going to have a killer show, so I’ve got to figure out how to star the show and do it justice."

The Blown Away Tour is set to kick off on Sept. 14 in Manchester, N.H. and will run through mid-December. Click here to see a full list of dates where the tour will be stopping along the way.
