Country newcomer Hunter Hayes scored significant time on ABC's 'Good Morning America' on Monday morning. In addition to performing his single 'Storm Warning,' the 20-year-old played 'Wanted' and chatted with host Robin Roberts.

Hayes talked about playing every note on every instrument for his self-titled debut album. He wasn't trying to show off, he says -- that's just the way he'd grown used to recording. "The only way it would get done is if I did the demos myself," he says.

The singer had often talked about opening for the likes of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Jr. before he was old enough to realize what these men meant to country music. His talents were recognized early, and the clips of towheaded Hayes are amusing if not adorable. "[I was] way tot young to realize what's going on, right?" Hayes says before Roberts introduces him as one of the "hottest new artists" around.
