Crazy. That's exactly how the crowd reacted to superstar-in-the-making Hunter Hayes when he took the outside stage at the 2013 CMT Awards to perform his uber catchy single 'I Want Crazy.' How could they not go nuts over this talented and adorable country wunderkind who was born to perform?

Hayes began the song on a small stage situated in the crowd, most of which was female and wearing heart-shaped sunglasses with the word 'Crazy' printed on the lenses. Those were likely promotional items handed out before the show began. That, or the Hayniacs decided to deface shades in order to prove their love for him.

It was still light out when Hayes tore into his hit song, but the sky was even brighter thanks to his star quality. He gave an effortlessly effervescent and ebullient performance.

The singer, dressed in a lemon yellow shirt, black skinny jeans and sneakers, made his way to the other, larger stage and performed most of the song there. He then ended the performance exactly how he started it -- by running through the crowd and interacting with fans.

After he wrapped his energetic performance, Hayes offered the intro for his friend Luke Bryan, who was performing across the street at the Stage, one of the ceremony's satellite locations. Hayes said, 'I Want Crazy,' then Bryan was crashin' a party. What a segue.
