When local Maryland artist Sheen Righter started playing Hunter Hayes’ "Wanted" during his set at a D.C.-area restaurant, he had no idea he’d be getting guest vocals courtesy of the artist himself.

Hayes shared a video on his Facebook page showing Hayes taking his own video of Righter performing the country hit at the restaurant he and his crew happened to be visiting while on tour. Though the cover singer was delivering a killer performance of the No. 1 hit, he motioned to Hayes to see if he wanted to take a chorus.

Naturally, he "21" singer happily obliged, taking the mic as Righter kept playing on an acoustic. Other patrons can be heard cheering at the sound of star treating them to an impromptu, intimate performance.

The guys shook hands and, of course, took a selfie after the song was over to commemorate the experience.

Hayes has been all over playlists and radio sets lately, having released both the music video for “21” and the song "Young and in Love” to streaming outlets and digital downloads. The artist took a risk in early May by releasing "21" to streaming and country radio only, rather than making it available to purchase right away. He has no immediate plans to release anything physically.

The move doesn’t seem to be hurting him, as the success of “21” in its first week was staggering, being added to 94 radio stations and having 4.5 million streams on Spotify alone.

Hayes is on tour with Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt across the U.S.
