America’s country-girl-next-door Kellie Pickler is inviting fans into her behind-the-scenes life with a new reality series on this fall. The show, called simply I Love Kellie Pickler, will show audiences what it’s really like being a country star, but it will also give a glimpse into her day-to-day home life with husband Kyle Jacobs, a songwriter in country music.

Pickler says the show — airing on CMT — is “soft-scripted,” meaning there is a basic framework for the activities and experiences they film, but the interactions within are real.

“We have to know what we’re doing,” she explains. "We can’t just show up places and film. We have to have it cleared and approved to shoot there, so we always have to have an idea of what we’re doing, and where we’re shooting, of course, but then we just roll with it. And they’re short, 30-minute episodes. We’re not saving the world.”

The show is part of Pickler’s endeavor to branch out into other areas of art and entrepreneurial ventures, not unlike her appearance on the 2013 season of Dancing With the Stars, from which she took home the gold.

"I think today it’s all about building your brand,” Pickler explains. “There’s so many different avenues to get your music out, and build your brand. I look at someone like Dolly Parton, who is the perfect example of someone who didn’t just limit herself to one thing. She used her music career as a vehicle to get in the doors and have her hands in many different products – film, Broadway, television. She has a theme park. I look at her, or look at Reba, who did Broadway, and all of the above. And so, I want to do everything. I just want to have fun, and be a part of people’s lives and tell my story through the form of a song, and branch out in different avenues and whatnot."

Pickler and Jacobs created and released a casual promotional video, a testament to her carefree attitude and down-to-earth personality, gushing about how excited they are for the premiere. Check out the full video below.

The series premieres Nov. 5 on CMT and brings Pickler and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest back together again, as Seacrest will serve as the show’s producer. Pickler came in sixth on her season of the talent competition’s fifth season in 2006.
