With over 50 No. 1 hits, years and years of touring and a farewell tour that has dates selling out in minutes ... why stop now? George Strait proves he still has it at 61, leading us to believe that the Cowboy Rides Away Tour may not be a farewell after all.

Tickets to Strait's 'final' tour have been selling like hotcakes -- apparently every country fan wants to bid adieu to one of the genre's most notable legends! The last stop on his tour, Arlington, TX, sold out in a few short hours, and it's sure to be worth it. Strait has some shows that will feature Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow, Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack, Martina McBride and Ronnie Dunn.

But let's rewind to the CMA Awards last year, where Strait delivered a cryptic message hinting he may not be ready to ride away just yet. "Like I've said before, I'm not totally quitting ... I'm just slowing down a little bit," the icon said backstage after winning Entertainer of the Year (quote via CMT). "But I don't know. This gets me fired up again. Cowboy might be riding back in, I don't know."

Strait clarified exactly what he meant by saying he didn't see a large tour in his future after the conclusion of the Cowboy Rides Away Tour in Arlington.

"No, I'm not gonna do that," he insists, speaking of a major run. "I said I was done, and I'm done touring. I'm still gonna do ... I'm thinking a few things every year. I don't know what. I can't imagine not ever having a band. I'm not selling the bus or anything. ... I just can't imagine not being in the business."

We do know that Strait has plans to record five more albums for MCA Records, so who knows what's next for the country music legend?
