When Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock announced they were eloping, it was completely unexpected. It was sudden. It was a surprise. Then, the rumor mill started churning, and pregnancy rumors began to surface.

Clarkson immediately jumped in shut down the baby gossip -- at least for now.

The star tweeted to clear the air after speculation over the scrapped wedding plans began spiraling out of control, saying, "FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant."

She adds, "We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony."

Hopefully, that announcement will settle things down a bit. Sometimes, rumors are built from a bit of truth, but in Clarkson's case, the baby news was simply born out of thin air and ridiculous assumptions.

Right now, the 'Tie It Up' singer is perfectly content with being a stepmom to Blackstock's two kids, and says she really "digs the mom thing," but that doesn't mean she'll be rocking an infant to sleep anytime soon.

Instead, she'll be saying "I do" in a sweetly intimate celebration that is perfect for the couple's needs right now. And when a Clarkson-Blackstock baby comes into the picture, you can bet the singer will be the one to make an announcement.
