Jake Owen brought his summer song 'Beachin'' to 'The Today Show' and started a beach party. The singer also got a moment to chat with co-anchor Matt Lauer before his fun performance.

Before their chat, Lauer introduced the long-haired singer and called his single "the song of the summer." Owen looked like a true beach bum in a white T-shirt and jeans, with his long locks flowing for the performance.

"I was hooked," Owen tells Lauer about his start in music. "My dad told me I had to get a job, so when I was in college I saw a guy on a bar stool and he had a pitcher of beer in front of him. I guess he was making 40 or 50 bucks a night. I was like, 'That looks like a pretty good job for me.'"

Now he's in it for the love of entertainment. "I"m a musician, but I love entertaining people and it's fun to do that kind of stuff out there every night and do what I love," Owen admits.

As soon as the music for 'Beachin'' kicked in on the stage, Owen kicked up the energy. He performed with his band in front of a beach landscape reading his name.

The 32-year-old is currently out on the road, with concerts listed through late October. Full tour dates for Owen are listed on his website.
