Comedian Ron White and his mother Barbara presented the award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2012 American Country Awards in Las Vegas tonight (Dec.10), and he did so with a drink in his hand. Hey, it's Vegas and it's country music, two ingredients in a recipe for a good night and load of fun. The supremely talented Jake Owen picked up the award in this prestigious category.

Before he hit the stage to accept his guitar statue, Owen also enjoyed a beverage. He grabbed a sip of a drink from Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley while in the crowd.

Owen, a new father who welcomed his first child on Thanksgiving, said, "I just had the most beautiful baby girl two weeks ago and just when I thought things could not get any better, things keep rolling. I love my wife, my baby and my mom back home." It was such a sweet speech and we loved hearing him shoutout little Pearl back home.

The singer certainly stood out in his crisp, white blazer and black shirt, which provided a contrast... and was better than that animal print thing he wore at the CMAs.

Congrats to Owen on his big win as Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2012 American Country Awards.
