Jake Owen and Daughter Pearl Make Adorable Pair in Matching Shades
Jake Owen is not shy about how much he adores his little girl, Pearl, and his recent Instagram photo is proof.
The singer posted an adorable selfie of the partners in crime wearing twin Ray-Bans, noting that he had to get his “little buddy” her very own pair to match his. Pearl is sticking her tongue out at the camera as Owen makes a face beside her, and it looks like the duo are having a great time together.
“Nothing better,” Owen concludes in the caption.
Owen has said before that he adores hanging out with his girl, even if it’s just watching television together. The “Real Life” singer once planned an elaborate daddy-daughter date for them to see Frozen live, but all Pearl wanted to do was watch TV with him.
“I got the tickets and everything, and I surprised her, and when I told her she just kinda looked at me, she was like, ‘Well dad, I kinda just wanna jump on the bed and watch cartoons,’” he said in an interview.
“She got so tired jumping up and down on the bed…and then she fell asleep in the little cradle of my arm. For me, it just doesn’t get much better than that. I’ll trade that for anything,” he gushed.
Owen has had a tough year recovering from his divorce from Lacey Buchanan, Pearl’s mom. The girls moved back to their home state of Florida, so Owen says he soaks up every minute of time he gets with his daughter. In fact, he told fans in a live chat that spending as much time with her as possible would be a huge priority for him in 2016.
“Single Dad life is rough,” he wrote.
The artist recently released his new single “American Country Love Song,” a tribute to all the songs he grew up listening to. He didn’t write it himself, but he says it reflects the heart of what he loves about the genre. The new tune is slated to appear on his upcoming fifth studio album, which is yet to be officially announced.
Owen is set to perform at the 2016 Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter Mountain, N.Y. in June.
