James Otto got the name of his daughter inked onto his left wrist early in 2012, about 14 months after the birth of Ava Katherine Otto. The singer told Taste of Country that the artwork was a long time coming.

“I’ve wanted to do this tattoo since Ava was born,” he said. “There are a lot of tattoos you may regret getting, but your child’s name is a safe bet. Plus, my wife isn’t a huge fan of tattoos, but it’s hard for her to be mad about one to honor our daughter [laughs]!”

Otto has his wife's name scrolled on his right wrist. If the couple were to have a second child, he'll either need to grow another arm or begin on his ankles.
