Jamie Lynn Spears' husband turned to social media to thank fans for their prayers after Spears' daughter, Maddie, made a seemingly miraculous recovery from a serious accident.

Jamie Watson posted to Instagram on Tuesday evening (Feb. 7) after he and his wife received the news that the 8-year-old had suffered no neurological damage from an ATV accident that took place on Sunday (Feb. 5) on some land the Spears family owns in Louisiana.

"Thank you to everyone for the prayers. Maddie is doing better and better. Thank y'all so much," Watson wrote to accompany a photo that says, "Believe in miracles."

Artists Who Have Suffered Terrible Tragedies

According to a statement from the local sheriff's department, Maddie regained consciousness on Tuesday afternoon "with her father, mother and stepfather by her side ... She is aware of her surroundings and recognizes those family members who have kept a round-the-clock vigil since the accident."

Maddie was awake and talking as of Tuesday, and had been removed from a ventilator, though she was still receiving oxygen. Doctors believe she has suffered no neurological damage from the accident, which reportedly took place when she was operating an ATV solo under the supervision of her mother and stepfather nearby. She swerved to avoid running over a ditch and ran the vehicle into a pond, where she was trapped by her seatbelt and the ATV's safety netting for two minutes before an ambulance arrived to free her.

Spears released her most recent country single, "Sleepover," in June of 2016. She shares custody of Maddie with the girl’s father, Casey Aldridge. The singer got pregnant with Maddie in 2007, at the age of 16, and she and Aldridge got engaged in 2008. The couple called off their engagement the following year and ended their relationship in 2010. Spears and Watson married in 2014.
