When Jana Kramer is out for a walk or running some errands, she often takes her baby Jolie with her. But a fussy baby is not conducive to a relaxing stroll or productive grocery run. As a first time mom, Kramer is learning as she goes, but she talked to Us Weekly about a few things she’s learned when it comes to keeping her baby calm on the go.

First, Kramer advises a blanket over the stroller to minimize distractions — and hopefully encourage a nap. As a bonus, she says, since her baby isn’t old enough to wear sunscreen yet, it protects her from the sun.

Second, Kramer recommends the “sleep sheep.” The stuffed animal is actually a disguised portable noise machine that hooks onto her stroller and soothes her daughter to sleep. Lastly, wearing her baby.

“When Jolie’s in the carrier, she hears my heartbeat, she loves being moved around, and it instantly calms her," she says.

Not to mention the added exercise benefits. “Every pound she gains is a workout for me,” Kramer adds, smiling.

The “I Got the Boy” singer welcomed Jolie on Jan. 31, 2016 with husband Mike Caussin, an NFL player. The two were married in May 2015 after dating for a year. They revealed their separation in August of 2016, with Kramer turning to social media to thank her fans for their support in what she calls "an extremely hard time." She has been announced as a cast member on Dancing With the Stars for Season 23.
