Jason Aldean has been attending the ACM Awards for nearly a decade, so he's used to the ins and outs of the process. The show is usually held in Las Vegas, which means the artists stay at the same hotels and eat at the same restaurants year after year. But the ACM Awards will set up camp in Texas this year, and Aldean is looking forward to a change of pace.

“It just kind of creates more excitement for us," the star says of having the awards show in a new location. "Sort of the not knowing — typically you know what to expect when you go to Vegas or whatever, and this is sort of a wildcard."

The 2015 ACM Awards will broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 19. Aldean played at the venue last year, and he is excited to return to it.

“I got a chance to play there last year with Strait on his Cowboy Rides Away tour, so that was pretty neat," Aldean recalls. “To go back, have the show there — I mean, what better place to have it than Texas, too? So, I think it’s gonna be a fun night."

Aldean is nominated for the fan-voted Entertainer of the Year award, but his top goal is to walk away with Album of the Year for Old Boots, New Dirt.

“There’s a lot that goes into launching an album, and whatever that album does sort of sets you up for the next year-and-a-half or whatever. So, it’s big to get a nomination for that," he explains. Aldean's entire team, from his record label and management company to his touring band and publicist, worked hard to make his album a success, and he knows that his victory is their victory.
