Brooks & Dunn's CMA performance with Jason Aldean was a serious country rocker on Wednesday night (Nov. 2). The duo added one of their disciples for a classic performance of B&D's first hit.

The song was just as fans remember it: short, punchy, loud and emphatic. Ronnie Dunn wore his Blues Brothers best while Aldean sported dark denim singing the end of the verses and each chorus with Brooks & Dunn. Toward the end all three men were flanked by the band's guitarists to create a wall of sound at the front of a small CMA stage. There was no doubting where the sound was coming from at the Bridgestone Arena.

Dunn and Kix Brooks have reunited, if only for a song. The pair sing together on Dunn's new solo album Tattooed Heart. A song called "Damn Drunk" features Kix Brooks, his CMA Award winning partner for more than 20 years and partner in Las Vegas. They broke up in 2010, but have come together musically for the first time for a Vegas residency with Reba McEntire and this new song.

The performance spoke to an early theme at the 2016 CMA Awards. So far the show has mixed legends with contemporary artists in ways that are unique and fresh.
