Jason Aldean and his wife, Jessica, are on the mend following a very public scandal, the couple tells 'CBS This Morning.'

The country superstar sat down with the popular news program with his former high school sweetheart by his side to discuss the perils of marriage while living a very public lifestyle. "It hasn't always been roses," Aldean confesses (quote via E! Online). "I think we're fine. I think anytime you go through anything like that... I mean it's tough."

"We've been together for a long time and through a lot of things together," 'The Only Way I Know' singer adds. "Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, but we didn't have the luxury of doing that."

The intimate interview was the Aldeans' first together following the infidelity scandal that pegged the singer partaking in questionable behavior with a woman that was not his wife. He has since apologized for his actions, and fervently assures the public that the momentary lapse of judgement is only a blimp in an otherwise normal marriage.

"I would say go ask any couple that's been married for 30, 40, 50 years," Aldean requests. "I guarantee..." leaving the thought open-ended for public interpretation.

"I would love to hear their story," the matriarch of the Aldean household chimed in.

With his personal life on the mend, the singer is now able to remain focused on his ever-skyrocketing recording career. Aldean recently debuted big with 'Night Train,' selling more than 400,000 copies of his fifth studio album in its first week of sales. The career milestone shattered his personal best opening, and placed the singer as the third best opening week in all of 2012.

Aldean also recently announced the first leg of his 2013 Night Train Tour, which will kick off in Feb. 21 in Bossier City, La.
