It's not often a surprise when a rapper crosses over into the film world, but when a country star does it, it's a big deal within the genre since it doesn't happen as often. See Tim McGraw's film trajectory for evidence! Now, 'Dirt Road Anthem' singer Jason Aldean -- who is riding a wave of massive success with his album 'My Kinda Party,' which has earned Aldean the title of best-selling country artist of 2011 so far -- is mulling the prospect of taking on a movie role.

Why stop at success with music, right? Perhaps Aldean is ripping a page out of the book of his friend and 'Dirt Road Anthem' duet partner, rapper/actor Ludacris.

The Courier Press asked Aldean if he would follow in the footsteps of other country greats like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash who branched out into film, and he revealed, "It just so happens we actually just got a movie script pitched to us about a month or so ago. It's one of those things that I would want to ease into, maybe try it out, have a couple small parts or something, just to see if it'd be something that I'd even be interested in."

One thing Aldean is certain about is that he would choose scripts the same way he chooses his tunes. "I'm very particular about the kind of music that I record and sing, and it would be the same way about the kind of movies that I would do," he said.

If Aldean does make the leap from the studio to the screen, there is a bit of a deal breaker. He likely won't be available for love scenes, as the singer does not kiss actresses or models in his music videos. Aldean admitted, "That's Mama's rule right there. But also, it's not something that I would do anyway ... I don't want my kids to see that and be confused. It seems like every time I get a video treatment, for some reason, it's got me hooking up with some girl and I'm like, 'Damn, y'all gotta get somebody else to do that.'"

So when asked if he would do kissing scenes in a film, Aldean said, "Yeah, can't do that. Give me a body double!"

What a good husband Jason Aldean is. We already know he's a terrific singer. Now we just have to wait and see how well he acts.
