Afternoon TV viewers got a healthy dose of country music when Jason Aldean made an appearance on 'The Ellen Show' on Friday (Nov. 16), performing his new smash hit 'Take a Little Ride' for the assembled studio audience.

Aldean and his backing band were pitch perfect when roaring through the song. Every time the cameras panned to the audience, which we have to admit wasn't very often, since they were mostly focused squarely on Aldean while on the stage, there were plenty of pretty young things rocking out and singing along. The ladies love Aldean, that's for sure.

It was a flawless execution of the singer's latest smash, one that was simple and effective. It wasn't bogged down with an extra or excess bells and whistles. It was Aldean, a mic, his guitar, cowboy hat and a backing band. What more could you ask for?

We're certain that even the casual country fan who tunes into the show on a daily basis would have been impressed by Aldean's performance.

His gig on 'Ellen' was Aldean's second major TV appearance in a week, as he hit the stage on Tuesday night's (Nov. 13) episode of 'The Voice.'

Ellen came over to give Aldean a hug after the performance and some quick, under-the-radar chit chat.
