Jason Aldean on Twitter Haters: ‘It’s Better Than Cable’
The 'Burnin' It Down' singer wants his songs to "hit a nerve, one way or another." He tells Radio.com he hopes people love or hate his music: "I think one of the worst things people can say is … ‘Yeah, it’s OK.'"
Plenty of people loved enough of what they heard from the new album to buy it. 'Old Boots, New Dirt' sold over 275K copies its first week. 'Burnin' It Down' has already gone Platinum.
Still, Aldean's social media pages blow up with people loving and hating his style, songs and personal life decisions. The superstar just takes it in. "A lot of times I’ll just sit there and smile at it and am like, ‘This is perfect,’” he admits. “If it doesn’t hit a nerve with people, then it’s elevator music."
He admits he used to stir the pot with a response, and in recent months, he's done just that when people began taking aim at his relationship with fiancee Brittany Kerr. But for the most part his fans, stick up for Aldean, creating a heated back-and-forth in the comments section of a post.
"It's better than cable," he concludes.
