Jason Aldean has two platinum albums and countless No. 1 singles -- but the 'Big Green Tractor' singer acknowledges that he wouldn't have any of it without his wife, Jessica.

Aldean and his wife are true high school sweethearts, as they've been together since the singer was 17. "We’re best friends," Aldean tells Nashville Music Scene. "I don’t even know if you can describe it ... I mean, it just doesn’t work without her, you know what I mean?”

Now that the couple has added two little girls to their crew, Aldean says he sees what all of the fuss is about. “My mom used to always say, ‘You’ll understand why I get so freaked out about things sometimes when you have your own kids,’ and once I did, you know, I get it," he admits. "You’re so terrified that something’s gonna happen to one of them, you smother them sometimes.”

When he's not busy suffocating his children, Aldean likes to pocket No. 1 singles. His Kelly Clarkson duet, 'Don't You Wanna Stay,' became his sixth No. 1 single when it soared to the top of the Billboard Country Singles chart last week.
