It's not only Jason Aldean's 'Kinda Party,' it's also his kinda year! According to Billboard, the singer's album 'My Kinda Party,' featuring the hit single 'Dirt Road Anthem,' is the best-selling country album of 2011 so far, placing ahead of heavyweights like Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley.

To place this well-deserved accolade in context, a male solo country artist has not ranked this high at the midway point of a year since Kenny Chesney, who did so with 'When the Sun Goes Down' back when it was the No. 3 seller. Way to go, Jason! If you didn't think that Aldean was already a part of country music's top tier and in the upper echelon of elite artists, these chart stats are all the evidence you need to be convinced.

Further to the point, Aldean's 'My Kinda Party' is one of only three country albums among the Top 20, which also includes pop albums, this year. Swift's best-seller 'Speak Now' is at No. 13, while Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now' is at No. 19 on that particular chart.

What this means, in layman's terms, is that Aldean's album is a hit and he is a bonafide star. The album is also bolstered by 'Don't You Wanna Stay,' his duet with Kelly Clarkson. The duo sang the song on 'American Idol' this season, further increasing the song's profile on the national radar.
