It seems as though Jennifer Nettles has found herself a superstar! After an emotional performance of the Michael Bolton ballad 'How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,' J Rome maintained a perfect track record at the top of the scoreboard, leading the pack three-for-three in as many weeks of competition.

Just like fellow Nettles protege John Glosson, J Rome chose this week's song for intensely personal reasons. "I'm dedicating this week's peformance to my grandpa," said the hopeful just before taking the stage. "My last memory of him was when he was in the nursing home."

"He sang with me. We sang 'Amazing Grace' and that was the last time I saw him," shared the frontrunner.

The pair's emotional performance resonated greatly with the remaining three celebrity mentors. "Team KC -- we love you!" confessed a tearful Kelly Clarkson. "I love this show. You're so good. I hate you!" joked the Texas native.

"What can I say after that? I'm running out of nice things to say about J Rome," said John Legend.  "Phenomenal vocals. This is the tearjerker episode. I can't take it anymore."

An overwhelmed Robin Thicke was left speechless, offering only a congratulatory round of applause following the performance.

"I'm honored," said the Sugarland singer following the performance. "That was a dedication for his grandfather. I'm honored to be a part of that."

J Rome took command of the leader board in the first week of competition, and tied for first place during week two of competition. J Rome solidified his place as a show frontrunner with his third consecutive finish at the top.
