Jennifer Nettles' son Magnus will turn four in December, and the proud mom is thinking about his future, admitting she can't imagine touring without him.

"I couldn’t do it without him," she tells Big Machine Label Group. "I couldn’t leave for the amount of time that I have to to devote to my work and leave him and not do it with him. So I am grateful that at this stage I’m able to do that."

While Magnus is still young enough that he doesn't need to be in school every day, Nettles says once that changes, she'll have to make a decision or alternate her busy schedule.

"As he gets bigger, then we will see where school is concerned between traditional and homeschooling, and how much I want to take him with me, and how I change my touring around what he needs, you know, too depending," Nettles explains. "We will see how it goes, but I am hopeful that I’m able to offer him something unique that will give him good life skills in this life."

Nettles is keeping busy this fall, as she recently released her new single "Hey Heartbreak" and she's gearing up for a new Christmas album, To Celebrate Christmas, out Oct. 28. The singer will also be supporting the holiday record with three Christmas tour dates in early December. The short tour for To Celebrate Christmas includes stops in Nashville on Dec. 8, Tallahassee, Fla. on Dec. 9, and Lake Charles, La. on Dec. 10.
