Jesse Sheppard understands that love makes the world go around. The rising country artist takes on the most universal subject matter in the world for his new "Best View" video, but he approaches it from a very fresh perspective.

"Best View" appears on Sheppard's yet-to-be-announced forthcoming debut album.

"The song itself is about me finding a girl to be the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen, and what makes her so beautiful are her quirks, and imperfections," he tells Taste of Country.

"So the director and I took that and brainstormed on what makes the statement that not even sunset, sunrise, nor an ocean view can even come close to a person's beauty such a powerful one. In order to do that, we set these two characters on this exciting road trip filled with gorgeous sites that throughout shows a strong love and bond between them despite each of their flaws."

The clip — which is premiering exclusively with Taste of Country — intersperses shots of Sheppard singing the song with two young women hitting the road for a trip that reveals that one of them has a real wild streak, while other is clearly more reserved. The video ends with them sitting on a beach together staring off at the ocean view, but it leaves it hanging whether they are just close girlfriends or something more.

"Instead of having the classic male and female acting leads, we felt that having two actresses was how we wanted to approach this concept. The reason being it becomes more of a mystery to what the relationship between the two leads is and allows the viewer to make that decision depending on how they personally connect with the characters and the theme of the video," Sheppard explains.

"I am so excited with how it turned out because it’s cohesive to the song’s message and also portrayed my belief that with love, whether it be for a lover, best friend, family member, or whoever, you love them because you can look past their imperfections, and still believe that they are beautiful, amazing, and someone you would do anything for."

Sheppard was the guitarist, lead vocalist and main songwriter in the pop band Six Stories Told. At the end of 2015 he decided it was time to pursue a solo career that would allow him to explore his other influences, including Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban, while also referencing the likes of Ed Sheeran, James Bay, and Ben Rector to create a sound all his own.

"Best View" comes from his upcoming full length, which is anticipated for 2017. The song is available for download via iTunes. For more information about Jesse Sheppard, visit his official website.
