Jett Williams, Hank Williams Daugther, Arrested for Second DUI
Jett Williams, country singer and daughter of the late Hank Williams, Sr., was arrested on May 9 for allegedly driving under the influence in Lebanon, Tenn. This is her second DUI arrest.
Williams, whose real name is Jett Williams Adkinson, was arrested on Friday evening a little before 11PM local time in Wilson County, Tenn. She was arrested and sent to jail for both the DUI and violation of implied consent, according to the Tennessean. This is the second time in three months that she has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The 61-year-old was released on Saturday on $1,500 bond.
Adkinson was arrested in February when she was allegedly swerving in her 1998 Jaguar. She was arrested Feb. 25 around 2:30AM also in Wilson County. That time, she admitted to having a couple of drinks and failed a field sobriety test before her arrest. She was also cited for for not wearing a seat belt and not having proof of insurance.
Adkinson never actually met her father, the legendary singer. She was born in Alabama just five days after his death on Jan. 1, 1953. Adkinson's mother, Bobbie Jett, did have a relationship with Williams but never actually married him. She is also the half-sister of Hank Williams, Jr. Adkinson was adopted and did not legally discover who her father was until 1985. It was two years later when she discovered she earned half of his estate.
