Congrats are in order for Jewel and her bull ridin' hubby, Ty Murray. The couple welcomed their first child, son Kase Townes Murray, on Monday evening in Texas. According to PEOPLE, Kase entered the world at 7PM CT, weighing 7 lbs., 6 oz.

The singer, 36, issued a statement, saying: "Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world. We are overcome with happiness -- it really is as great as everyone told us it would be -- better, even!"

Jewel and Murray wed on a beach in the Bahamas in 2008. The couple struggled to conceive for years, and Jewel actually found out she was with child during her first day as host on Bravo's 'Platinum Hit' reality show.

Her pregnancy was rather eventful, as well. While five months pregnant, her vehicle was struck by a firetruck, but thankfully, neither Jewel nor the baby were harmed.

Jewel has also spent the past few months converting the guest room of her spacious farm in Stephenville, Texas into a nursery for the baby and she has been working on 'The Merry Goes 'Round,' a children's album due out in August. Jewel certainly didn't slow down or take a "pregnant pause" during the last nine months. The singer also opened up about her life as a pregnant woman in her recent cover story for Fit Pregnancy.

We wish the Murray family all the best!
