The Charlie Daniels Band suffered a second tragedy this year when Joel 'Taz' Di Gregorio was killed in a car accident on his way to bus call in October 2011. In addition to being a member of the CDB for over 40 years, the 67-year-old helped write some of the the group's biggest hits, including 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia,' 'The Legend of Wooley Swamp' and 'Simple Man.' Perhaps more significant than losing their keyboardist, members of the tight knit group lost a great friend.
