Joey + Rory Feek are not letting Joey's cancer battle hold them back. Despite her ongoing treatments, the couple are currently in the studio working on a new album.

The traditional country duo credit their deep Christian faith with providing them the strength to get through her health crisis, which began with surgery to treat cervical cancer last year. Joey had to undergo a second round of very extensive surgery in July after doctors discovered her cancer had returned and spread, but according to Rory's recent update, she is currently stable and doing well.

Joey recently returned to the stage at a concert performance, and while she is at home between rounds of treatments, the couple are taking the opportunity to work on a project that has been near and dear to Joey's heart for a long time, recording an album of traditional gospel songs.

"It's been a dream of Joey's to do someday," Rory writes on Facebook. "That someday is today."

The singer recently spent a week in the hospital recovering, and she is slated to undergo eight weeks of very difficult chemotherapy soon. But the couple are thankful for her progress so far.

"After a day of bloodwork and many meetings, the doctors there said that they feel like Joey is doing wonderful," Rory shares. "And she really is. But it was a rough start for her."
