Jon Pardi has a lot to look forward to in the next few weeks. The singer is releasing a six track EP called The B-Sides, 2011-2014, and he stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio to chat with Sam Alex about why the EP is just an "appetizer" for his fans.

Know that Pardi is still working on his sophomore album — he just didn't want to make his fans wait any longer without new music. The EP will include six songs that have yet to be released, all of which were contenders for his last album.

“The B-Sides is a little run off from the first album," Pardi explains. "We had a lot of songs that we really liked for the first album, but rule of voting and everything we had to put these to the side ‘cause we had our favorites.”

Collectively, Pardi and co. realized, “‘Well we gotta put these out,’ and so this is like the appetizer that comes out this year before the second record."

The B-Sides, 2011-2014 is due out on May 19, just one day before Pardi turns the big 3-0! Although that's a pretty good early birthday present, he admits he'll still celebrate in his hometown, even though he doesn't have a plan just yet.

“I’m going to have a big birthday party," the singer declares. "I’m going to be in my hometown in California so I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
