As wildfires continue to rip throughout the state of Texas, destroying thousands of homes in their path, many are coming forward to do their part in helping the victims. Texas-based radio station KNUE 101.5 reports that the Josh Abbott Band are contributing to the cause by offering fans the tune 'Hell's Gate on Fire,' which is available for digital download after a simple donation through the band's website. Donations to get the song start at $1, but fans can give as much to the cause as possible.

The Texas fires are a sensitive topic to the Josh Abbott Band for many reasons, but one obvious point being that they all hail from the state. "I wrote ['Hell's Gate on Fire'] with Brandon Rhyder this past spring when fires were intense, especially up around Possum Kingdom Lake," Abbott reveals to Taste of Country. "We recorded it early summer for our next album, but then these fires got bad again, so I decided, 'Why wait?' So we made it available for donations, and we're contributing 100 percent of them to some good causes. I'm excited to help. I love Texas with all my heart."

While Abbott is busy helping wildfire victims, his band's latest single, 'My Texas,' which features guest vocals by Pat Green, is climbing the charts. The tune hit country radio earlier just a few weeks ago and is now sitting pretty at No. 2 on the Texas music chart.
