Julianne Hough exercised some serious misjudgment when she attended a Halloween party for Casamigos Tequila in Hollywood on Friday (Oct. 25).

The singer, actress and dancer went dressed up as Crazy Eyes from the Netflix original series 'Orange Is the New Black,' complete with orange prison garb ... and blackface. The latter was her bif misstep, which caused major controversy around the web on Saturday.

Hough, 25, had her hair fixed with the African-American character's signature knots atop her head, her face visibly darkened with makeup. The singer's friends dressed up as other characters from the hit show.

When Hough caught wind of the controversy she stirred up, she quickly apologized.

"I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created," she wrote on Twitter. "It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
