Remember When Julianne Hough Was in a ‘Harry Potter’ Movie?

Julianne Hough
Warner Bros. Pictures

Before ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ ‘Footloose’ and Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough was an extra in the first Harry Potter movie, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.’ There she is in the picture above, just an arm’s length away from co-star Rupert Grint. Hough didn’t have any lines and her part is uncredited, but the studio experience surely helped her land bigger roles in the future.

In 2011, the dancer-turned-country-singer revealed that she has a memento from her time with the Potter gang. “I might get in trouble for this,” she tells Parade Magazine, “but I actually stole the Gryffindor scarf that I had as a memento. I was like, ‘I have to keep this scarf!’” She remained a fan into adulthood, never missing the midnight screenings of the new movies.
