Lady Antebellum Debut ‘Just a Kiss’ Live on Tonight’s ‘American Idol’
It was 'Just a Kiss' from country darlings Lady Antebellum on tonight's episode of 'American Idol.' The group offered a sweet taste of their new delicate and heartfelt single, which is slated to be on their upcoming (and hotly anticipated) third album.
Lady A -- big winners at the Grammys this year -- have established themselves as a major force in the country genre, and they have certainly crossed over into the pop culture mainstream with their album 'Need You Now.' When Hillary Scott sang, "I'm caught up in the this moment / I'm caught up in your smile," we felt the same way about her, as she radiates when performing. She looked lovely this evening. The song had even judge Jennifer Lopez, who is set to follow Lady A with a performance tonight, movin' and groovin' in her seat.
'Just a Kiss' is a beautiful, warm and cozy ballad that plays to the group's harmonic strengths. While Lady A sang about giving someone "just a kiss goodnight," sadly, we're are giving an 'Idol' contestant a kiss goodbye this evening, as an astounding 65 million viewers voted!
Lady A received a standing ovation at the end of their performance. They didn't get a chance to chat post-performance with Ryan Seacrest, but they didn't need to. They said it all with 'Just a Kiss.'
