Justin Moore and his wife Kate are expecting their fourth child in June, and the singer says people often assume that having three daughters made him eager to try for a boy. But that's far from the case.

"We’re done and everybody keeps asking me like in interviews and stuff they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re trying for that boy, huh.’ And I say, 'Y’all don’t even know, it ain’t me. I was done with three girls,'" he told press at a recent No. 1 party for his single "You Look Like I Need a Drink."

The singer was content with his three girls, and he thought he made that clear. In fact, it's actually his wife who is hoping for a son.

"My wife wants a boy so bad she can’t stand it. And so she worked on me for about a year. So, she finally got me drunk and took advantage of me,” he says with a laugh.

Earlier at the party, Moore revealed that the couple will be keeping the sex of the baby a secret — even from themselves — despite his objections.

“It’s a battle that’s ongoing in my house,” he admits. “Kate didn’t want to find out with our youngest. I convinced her to, broke her down, talked her into it. She is adamant that we will not find out this time which I despise the idea."

Adds Moore, "I just hate surprises. I don’t like good ones, bad ones. If anyone has any surprises for me, don’t. I don’t like them. I don’t know if it’s a control thing or what.”

Moore's latest single is "Somebody Else Will."
