The newest episode of 'CMT Crossroads' has been announced and will include two very prominent women in the music business. Country songstress Kacey Musgraves will join pop powerhouse Katy Perryon stage later this month for the show.

The show's taping will take place late April in Los Angeles and will be the very next edition of the collaboration show. It will air on June 13 on CMT, as well as VH1, MTV, MTV. Perry seems excited for the collaboration and even says she and Musgraves have a lot more in common than people may realize.

"From the moment I heard 'Merry Go Round' by Kacey Musgraves, I knew we were cut from the same songwriter's cloth," Perry tells Billboard.

Perry gushes more on the country singer saying not only does she admire her music, but she calls her a friend. "I have been a fan and a friend of hers from the beginning, always championing her prolific songs every opportunity I get," Perry says. "To me, Kacey Musgraves is an artist that should be a household name because she offers a unique perspective with her writing style."

The pop singer enjoys Musgraves so much she asked her to join her on the road for her Prismatic World Tour. "It's going to be a blast to play on each other’s songs this Crossroads. It will be a preview to our Prismatic World Tour road trip this summer which I can't wait for!” Perry exclaims.
