Kacey Musgraves is known for her classic country style with a hint of edgy hipster flair, but has she added a little more funk to her look?

Musgraves posted a photo on Instagram on Monday (Aug. 17), showing her typically dark tresses cascading in a light, airy lavender tint. Sure, it could be just a wig for a performance or video — but has she taken the plunge for real?

The singer is saying ... nothing. The post is just an image, leaving fans speculating.

The hair color, whether permanent or not, seems to fit her, framing her face and complimenting her skin tone well, not to mention matching her quirky personality. Judging from the comments, fans seem to dig it, too, with many remarking how gorgeous the singer looks. Perhaps Musgraves was inspired by a horse she saw with pink hair — she shared this photo last week.

The singer debuted her most new record, Pageant Material, at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and is currently promoting its second single, "Dimestore Cowgirl." Her tour, titled the Kacey Musgraves Country & Western Rhinestone Revue, is set to launch Aug. 27 in Atlanta, Ga., and run through the fall.

Musgraves also has plans to host a benefit show in her hometown of Mineola, Texas, to support art and music programs in the Wood County school district. The Hometown Hang is slated to take place Sept. 26 at the Mineola Nature Reserve.

“I’m so excited to be coming back to my hometown to play and help in keeping music and art programs alive in schools!” the Grammy winner said in a press release about the event. “I was lucky to have a solid support system as a kid and I can only hope that a fun event like this will be a small step for someone else."

(A fun event which may have just been made more fun by purple hair, of course.) Musgraves’ sophomore record Pageant Material is available now.

Spoiler Alert: It was a wig! Here's Musgraves' boyfriend and bandmate Misa Arriaga sporting the same lavender mane:
