Kacey Musgraves was the  musical guest on Saturday Night Live on May 12, and it seemed likely she would try her hand at a comedy skit or two. None made the telecast, but she did pre-tape a moment called "Spirituality Rap," which was later released via YouTube.

In addition to performing her country tunes "High Horse" and "Slow Burn," Musgraves lent her voice to a mock music video for "Song for the Angels," in which she portrays a choir singer of sorts alongside angel and SNL host Amy Schumer and rapper Beck "Stav D" Bennett. She comes in around the one-minute mark.

The odd, but funny skit was ultimately cut for time, but shows Musgraves' range as a singer and her sense of humor as she belts lines from a choir loft. She'll need all sides of her personality as the Texas native continues on the road in support of her new Golden Hour album. On May 27, Musgraves will join George Strait at the Bayou Country Superfest in New Orleans (an event that also features Chris Stapleton, Midland and Little Big Town).

In June, Musgraves begins her run with One Direction pop star Harry Styles. It's an unlikely pairing that actually makes a lot of sense for her. "With the new path that I'm forging musically, I think it really makes sense for us to be on tour together," the "Follow Your Arrow" hitmaker tells Rolling Stone of performing with Styles. "He's leaned a little bit toward my side of the street, and I've leaned a little bit more toward his side of the street."
