It's shaping up to be a fight between two of country music's most promising female artists, as current Showdown champ Kalie Shorr and acclaimed singer-songwriter Brandy Clark square off today and over the weekend.

Shorr is fresh off impressive back-to-back wins against Reba McEntire and Trace Adkins, bolstered by the support she's garnered as one of the leading lights of the #LetTheGirlsPlay movement, which began in Nashville as a response to the struggles women have been experiencing in country music. Her current single, "Fight Like a Girl," directly addresses those challenges, and so far fans love the feisty empowerment anthem.

Clark has just released "Girl Next Door," the lead single from her forthcoming second solo album. Her debut album was one of the most critically acclaimed projects of the last several years, and her sharp songwriting does not disappoint, delivering a song that's like a darkly comic suburban novella. It carries forward some of the themes fans loved about her first album, but with a new musical economy and more modern arrangement.

Listen to clips of both Shorr’s and Clark's songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Monday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Monday.
