One gift Keith Urban will never have to buy is the gift of music.

Ellen DeGeneres celebrated her 57th birthday on Monday (Jan. 26) with plenty of surprises, including a special appearance from Urban on her show. In addition to a very sweet conversation about the country star's marriage to Nicole Kidman, the talk show host asked Urban to sing his new single.

Of course the country star, being the nice guy that he is, happily obliged.

"I know you don't have a band with you, but because it's my birthday, I just I want to hear the song. I brought a guitar that maybe you'd want to play," DeGeneres tells Urban in the clip above, referring to his latest single, 'Raise 'Em Up.' "I thought you'd want to do that because your name is on it."

Urban was clearly not expecting DeGeneres to reach around her chair and grab his own guitar, but she did. And how could he refuse giving the birthday girl exactly what she wanted?

"I wish I had Eric [Church] here," Urban explained to the audience. "He'd play with him ... well, he'd sing with me." 'Raise 'Em Up' is a collaboration with Church -- it received high praise from Taste of Country.

After a few verses of the song, Urban had another surprise: his own country version of 'Happy Birthday,' which the 'Ellen' host was delighted to hear. Of course, he also complimented her socks, and we're sure he left the set with a new pair of Ellen underwear. Watch the sweet birthday moment above.
