Toby Keith, Dolly Parton and Brad Paisley were the rumored country stars to be joining 'American Idol' before Keith Urban was confirmed as the new judge in August 2012. He joined Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson on judge's bench, and soon found himself in the middle of the drama as the two pop singers made the UFC look like child's play. Reports at the time say Urban's contract was worth between $3 to $4 million -- roughly half of what Paisley was asking as negotiations between him and the show got serious. Urban finished coaching the first season of 'The Voice' in Australia in 2012. He becomes the second country singer to join a major network reality singing show full time.
