Keith Urban was on hand to help kick off Grammy season by performing at 'The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!" last night (Dec. 6) in Los Angeles, during which nominees in major categories were revealed. He strapped on his guitar and he sang Bill Withers' elegiac 'Ain't No Sunshine' and he did so with R&B crooner Miguel.

Urban and Miguel were bathed in blue lights during their performance, with the newly-shorn Urban allowing his guitar to gently weep. Miguel sang and operated a laptop while he performed, which may have had something to do with the light show that accompanied the two artists from two different worlds. Urban and Miguel came together for a beautiful and impactful version of an emotional song.

For two-and-a-half minutes, there was no country and there was no pop. There was just music, without categorization or boundaries, which is the true spirit of the Grammys.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled for Jan. 26 in L.A. and the broadcast will air on CBS.

Congrats to all the nominees, country and beyond.
