Keith Urban and his Oscar-winning wife Nicole Kidman often find themselves far apart, given their busy-in-the-spotlight careers.

He's promoting his new album 'Fuse' and touring, with his second stint on 'American Idol' in full swing, while she is an in-demand actress constantly shooting and on location. The couple has two daughters, as well.

Needless to say, they work hard to keep the romance alive seven years into their marriage, utilizing phone calls and reserving texts for something very specific.

Urban revealed the ins and outs of communicating with his wife while on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Monday (Oct. 28).

"It's a little tricky … we just make it work," the singer, who admits he structures his tours to make sure he is not gone from his family for weeks at a time, shares. "We never text, we never email. Phone calls only, which I really love..."

He quickly recanted, saying, "Maybe one text. Maybe one cool kind of, you know ... a year, one of those kinds of texts..."

Urban quickly turned shy at that admission.

"What kind of text? What do you mean?" DeGeneres asked him, even though her guest's body language and bashful grin said it all. It was obvious what he meant, and the host certainly enjoyed making him squirm in the cutest way.

"Nice sex texting," Urban adds sheepishly. "I'm a little red right now."

So there you have it -- one secret to Keith Urban's successful marriage is sexy texts, but only in moderation. Whatever works, right?
