Keith Urban's highly-anticipated Ripcord is finally out, and the Aussie stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio to talk about it. It was certainly a labor of love for him and the other songwriters, and just when Urban thought he was done, he heard Pitbull's voice and knew he needed that, too.

Urban was presented with one of the album's tracks just to hear the songwriting skills of Israeli songwriter and producer K-Vov and Jackson Morgan. When he heard "Habit of You," he knew he had to have the song for himself.

“I said, ‘Oh my God. I am obsessed with this song. Can I cut this song?’ and they said ‘No, it’s on hold for another artist. They’re gonna record it.’ I was so bummed. I was like, ‘That’s my song.’”

Urban sat down to write with the two songwriters, but was still holding out for the track. The other artist recorded it, but it didn't make the album, and when that happened, it was up for grabs.

Another of Ripcord's standout tracks is "Sun Don't Let Me Down." That one has a familiar voice on it -- it's the voice of Mr. Worldwide (aka Pitbull). It all started when the rapper's voice came on the radio.

“Out of the blue I just heard that voice, and I’ve heard many Pitbull many times like all of us have," Urban explains. "And on that particular day I heard his voice and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. That is the voice that needs to be on ‘Sun Don’t Let Me Down.’”

He sent the song to Pitbull, who liked it, and filled in the musical break with an improv rap. The rest is history.

“Someone said to me two days ago, ‘So you wanted a rap on that song?’ and I said, ‘No. I wanted Pitbull on that song.’"

Urban's 12-track album is now out on iTunes and other digital retailers, as well as in stores.
