Keith Urban has just announced that he will undergo throat surgery at the end of the month. The outpatient procedure is to remove a polyp on his vocal chords.

Although the surgery is said to be minor, Urban will need to completely rest his voice for an undetermined amount of time. That means that he will not appear at the third annual All For the Hall benefit concert scheduled for January in Nashville.

Trooper that he is, Urban will honor other commitments that require him to only sing one song. Although the news from Urban's camp didn't specify which commitments those are, they did note that any shows or appearances that would require Urban to sing more than one song would be postponed. All postponed appearances will be rescheduled in 2012.

Urban recently released a new fragrance called Phoenix, and his latest single at radio is the track 'You Gonna Fly.'
