Kellie Pickler Performs New Song ‘Unlock That Honky Tonk’

100 Proof
BNA Nashville

Kellie Pickler is sharing new music with her fans and giving them a chance to download the title track if they pre-order ‘100 Proof’ on iTunes. The singer has also released video of an acoustic performance of ‘Unlock That Honky Tonk,’ a banjo-driven, bluesy country tune that shows her fiery side.

Pickler is a scorned woman looking for some fun in this song. She wakes up the bar owner and starts her own party by the first chorus.

Unlock that honky tonk / Boy, turn the neons on / Go and get the good stuff out / I’m bringing a party crowd / I don’t need no trouble man / Just need a smokin’ band / Don’t tell me country’s gone / ‘Cause I’m about to try some on / Unlock that honky tonk,” she sings.

Pickler dominates this performance by showing off the attitude that she promised to bring to her third album, which she has said will be more traditional than previous efforts. Recently, she revealed the track listing for ‘100 Proof,’ due to hit stores on Jan. 24.
