Kellie Pickler can hardly do wrong on 'Dancing With the Stars.' Once again she left the judges searching for words with a quick step that was almost perfect. Only judge Carrie Ann Inaba held back, saying there was a little too much space between her and partner Derek Hough at times.

Judge Len Goodman thought Pickler's dance to Stevie Wonder's 'Part Time Lover' was brilliant. "For me, that's the best dance I've season on Season 16," he told Pickler before flashing a "10" as his score. The couple totaled 29, good for a tie for first place on the night with Disney star Zendaya Coleman.

Once again fans got a glimpse at how competitive Hough and Pickler have become. Their rehearsals are increasingly tense, but the hard work is paying off. This week Pickler got a special surprise when it was her professional partner who couldn't keep it together during practice.

"When Derrick makes a mistake it makes me excited because then I can rub it in his face," she said during the recorded footage.

After eight remaining couples did their individual dances, they split into two groups for a team dance. Pickler was part of Team Samba, who topped Team Paso by a score of 25 to 22. All dancers add the team total to their individual scores, meaning the country singer ended on top of Zendaya by a score of 54 to 51. Of course fan vote factors into who gets sent home tonight (April 23). Comedian Andy Dick and boxer Victor Ortiz had the lowest totals of 18 for their individual dances.
