Kelly Clarkson isn't engaged just yet, but the 'Don't Rush' singer is this close to sealing the deal with her new beau of nine months, Nashville-based talent manager Brandon Blackstock.

"We are totally going to get married," Clarkson gushed during an interview segment on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (quote via People). "We love each other. We are totally going to get married one day."

The sometimes outspoken pop-country superstar was rather straightforward with the leading lady of daytime talk show hosts, speculating, "I mean, he's got to put a ring on at some point, but I'll wait it out."

Clarkson did not elude to a specific timeframe for her apparent upcoming nuptials, but the 30-year-old Texas native does admit that an elaborate, southern-style wedding is not the direction the couple will take when she finally gets her ring.

"We will totally, probably elope," she admitted without hesitation. "Honestly, I've never been the girl to plan a wedding."

The singer may seem a bit overzealous at the prospect of marriage, but during a recent interview with Taste of Country, Clarkson assures fans that she is quite cautious about not rushing into such a serious commitment.

“He was married for awhile and I come from two broken homes so… my whole thing is I don’t wanna rush into something,” she explains of hers and Blackstock's childhoods. “We are very happy in love and we will totally be getting married. But we’re not planning that anytime soon.”

In the meantime, Clarkson is just plain ecstatic to be sharing the holiday season with someone she truly cares for. "This is going to sound like I'm making a joke but it is so not. It is serious," she says. "I am not alone for the first time for Thanksgiving and Christmas – and I am very happy."

The first 'American Idol' is currently making her media rounds in support of 'Greatest Hits -- Chapter One.' The new project features a handful of Clarkson's biggest pop hits, as well as her new country single 'Don't Rush,' which features Vince Gill on background vocals.
