Kelly Clarkson, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie and Robin Thicke all have one thing in common right now (and no, it's not their super successful recording careers). They're each scouring the nation for the very best singers to join their teams on the upcoming ABC show 'Duets.' And though the show doesn't officially premiere until May, the artists are already getting a major start on choosing their team members.

At her San Diego show Tuesday (April 10), Clarkson put two of her top picks to the test by having them duet with her onstage during her live show. Jason Farol and Julianna Gutierrez each got one song to sing with Clarkson -- the 'What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)' singer invited Farol up to sing the male part on the Civil Wars' 'Poison & Wine' and then dueted with Gutierrez to 'Georgia on My Mind.'

"I've auditioned and auditioned," Clarkson told her crowd, "and I've come down to a couple of people I'm very, very excited about. But my test for them is to put them in front of an audience ... Both of these singers are incredible, so be prepared for that."

Clarkson was right; both singers held their own next to the soulful singer, and Farol could have even put a little more power behind his melodic voice to make the duet even, so as to not get lost behind Clarkson's voice. We'll have to wait until May to see if these two end up on Clarkson's team in the very first season of 'Duets,' but if they do, we think they'll stand a great chance in the competition.
