Kelly Clarkson had a pretty big weekend planned, so she knew she'd better get some rest before Sunday's iHeartRadio Music Awards. The 32-year-old singer was booked to perform her "Heartbeat Song" at the show, so naturally, she needed a pre-performance nap.

She didn't get it, however.

Clarkson shared with fans her attempt at getting a snooze in via Instagram. In the photo, the singer is snuggled up on a couch, but she's not alone. Husband Brandon Blackstock is laying behind the star, his arm thrown on top of her. Their daughter is there, too, but unfortunately, it doesn't appear River was very interested in a nap — at least not as interested as she seemed to be in her mommy's nose, which she's giving a little squeeze in the cute picture.

"Trying to take a nap before the iHeart Radio Awards...haha didn't work," Clarkson writes.

Somehow, the country-pop singer arrived at the awards show looking stunning and not at all tired. For her performance of "Heartbeat Song," she wore a short, lacy blue dress with sheer sleeves and tall heels. Clarkson stood in the center of a lit-up heart and belted the tune out to those in the iHeartRadio Awards show crowd and those at home.

Clarkson's mother-in-law, Reba McEntire, was also on hand for the event — she took the stage in all black to hand out an award.
